
The Sterling Heights Youth Consortium was formed in 2008. Made up of high school and young adults, the purpose of the consoritum is:
-To promote the education of youth in city government and encourage the responsibility in community activities.
-To forward to the mayor, city council, and any city department its suggestions relating to the youth and community from the youth perspective.
-To serve as youth ambassadors to the City of Sterling Heights
-To initiate more youth volunteerism in city events such as
Sterlingfest Art & Jazz Fair
Memorial Day Parade
Teenfest
Sterling Christmas
Public Safety Initiatives
Public Library Programs
Other Special Events
The consortium would serve as an administrative advisory group to the city of Sterling Heights administration presenting their comments and suggestions.
